Chanel No. 5, Allure and Egoiste

Madame Chanel sold perfume for the very first time at her newly opened "boutique" in 1914. She quickly established herself and her perfume as trendsetting for the whole industry. In 1921, she employed Ernest Beaux, who helped her create Chanel No. 5. This was a breakthrough of great importance. Before Chanel No. 5 no one had ever dared to use aldehydes in perfume, but Chanel No. 5 was a resounding success. 

Aldehydes are still widely used in today's perfume industry. In recent times other successes like Chanel No. 19 and No. 22 made their way to the top of the sales lists, and lately Chanel Allure has been an extremely popular perfume.

Coco

Jacques Polge created Coco for Chanel in 1984. Of course its named after Mademoiselle Coco Chanel. Coco represents the essence of Chanel perfume with a both spicy and floral scent. Its splendid top note of jasmine - combined with a Jacques Helleu bottledesign - makes Coco a perfume for the future.

Chanel Egoiste

In 1990 Egoiste was introduced by Chanel. This fragrance has coriander and lemon plus a bit of jasmine and amber. Egoiste is only for men.
