Perfume is easy and simple to make. The only trick is to mix essential oils creating a scent you like. |
Perfume is made up of notes. The smell that stays the longest on your skin is called the base note. The smell that stays the second longest time is called the middle note and the smell of the first scent to evaporate from your skin is called the top note.
Because the oils all evaporate at different rates the perfume may smell different as time goes on.
List of typical notes.
Cedar wood, cinnamon, sandalwood (indian preferred), vanilla Clove, lemongrass, geranium, bottle nutmeg, ylang-ylang, neroli Bergamot, lavender lemon lime neroli Vanilla or Lavender

All you need in your production is:
Mix 25 or more drops of essential oils.
They should be divided into base, middle and top notes and mixed evenly. Start with all your base notes, then pour up the middle note and finally drop the top note - which you should be able to smell when you go.
Add the bridge (add a few drops to join the notes together) and 2 1/2 ounces of alcohol. Shake it for a few minutes and let it rest for 48 hours.
Then you add two tablespoons of spring water. Stir it and pour the blend through a coffee filter into a bottle.
This should do it. You have a perfume ready to use. Notice that it takes some training to make a descent fragrance.
